I went to the doctor yesterday and in tears begged for an induction. She said when would you like to induce. I said right now but I can wait until in the morning. She laughed and said how about the 25th. I laughed and said seriously 2 days before my due date??? Um no Monday. She stared at me and said Monday? I said Dr. Beard I am miserable please. I have 2 pairs of pants and 2 shirts that fit me. I have been having contractions every 15 minutes for 2 1/2 weeks, I sleep in 15 minute intervals, I am tired it is 106 degrees outside today with a heat index of 120!!! I can’t make it another 2 weeks please end this for me! I have tried everything….I began to sob.
My doctor is 35 weeks pregnant. I am almost 38. If any doctor is gonna get it she is.
She smiled let me check your cervix. I breathed through the pain and never flinched. I am dilated to a 2.5. 1/2 a freaking centimeter away from being able to be admitted to the hospital! She said well we need to talk about the risk of inducing before the 39th week. She went on to explain that there is a 1% chance of the lungs being under developed before 39 weeks. I decided I was willing to take the risk.
Sophia was born at 38 weeks and 6 days. Connor will be born at 38 weeks and 2 days. Sophia was spontaneous labor. Connor will be induced if I make it that long. I am being selfish. I want my body back and this parasite out of my womb where I can hold him and love him.
My son will be here no later than Monday. I can’t wait!
If it makes you feel any better, a friend of mine just went to 41 weeks and 2 or 3 days. She was totally zen about it though and didn’t want to have an induction unless the tests were showing he was in danger in any way.
Watch… now that you know when he’s coming and you can relax fully, thats when you’ll go into labor naturally and won’t even need to be induced! Either way, looking forward to the newest member of your family coming into the world!
YAY!!! So excited for this boy to arrive 🙂
I was induced because my water broke almost 4 weeks early and I didn’t jump into labor right away. I do NOT recommend it. Pitocin is the devil. Amen. Thanks for visiting! Come back again!
Keep an eye on the baby heart monitor when you induce. If it spikes up and down, their having trouble….which usually means emergency C-section. Sarah had the cord around her neck when we induced and they had to cut her out….
